I just wanted to give a brief shout out and thank you to all those who helped me get to Kenya. Whether you donated, bought my CD, stopped by the benefit show, or just kept tabs with my project.. I am very grateful. The kids at the Tumaini Children's Home absolutely loved their new school supplies, jump ropes, shoes, and friends. It was definitely an experience the children and I will never forget.
Here are a few pictures of the beautiful people I met. Hope you enjoy and thank you again!
Jess.
With your help we delivered 210 pairs of shoes, 200 jump ropes, 1 note book, 2 pencils, and 2 pens for every child in school, and lots of love!
New Video: Lady GaGa "Poker Face"
Tuesday, 10 August 2010 00:00
Check out my new live and unplugged version of Lady Gaga's "Poker Face" at The Good Cup in Franklin, TN. I thought I would do my own version "Poker Face". Let me know what you think by leaving a comment and rating on YouTube!
"Poker Face" is a song by Lady GaGa, one of the most popular pop artist. Unlike most people, Lady GaGa writes her own songs and is heavily involved in the production of her music. "Poker Face" was released on Lady Gaga's debut album, The Fame in early 2009.

Robertson County High Schools have worked hard this last month in helping others by simply donating shoes. Something we take for granted everyday. We should be proud that Robertson County has gathered a total of 3,742 pairs of shoes to help those in need.

330 miles ago, Ben Sollee, Katie Benson, and Marty Benson left Frankfort, KY on their trek through the appalachians to reach Manchester, Tennessee's famous Bonnoroo.....did I mention they traveled by bike? No, not the hardcore Harley Davidson, but by the original foot-peddling bicycle. Along the way, the talented
singer/songwriter Ben Sollee toured many venues in order to share his cello based songs. And yes...Ben's cello was in tow during the whole trip. But through all of this, it was Sollee's upbringing awareness of OxFam America that fueled the ride. As a supporter of OxFam America, Ben has been spreading the word about the amazing things Oxfam America is doing to help alleviate social and economical hardships both abroad and here at home. OxFam strives to enable poor people to exercise their right to manage their own lives. To learn more about this relief organization please visit www.oxfamamerica.org. Along with that, please continue your support to Ben, Katie, and Marty as they pedal their way against poverty. You can check out Ben Sollee's music here at www.bensollee.com.
Good music for good causes, love

What I've gathered NOT to do before a show.
Thursday, 16 July 2009 00:00
- Drinking carbonated drinks = burping mishaps during songs, or while talking to important people
- Waxing the car = slippery hands that don't handle guitar picks very well, nor an audience member's face after it flies out of your hand.
- Roller coaster rides = a sick stomach that's incapable of controlling itself on stage, and an unhappy audience member that gets (so called) 'leftovers' in their lap.
....and I'm sure the list will grow, as i continue to do things that bring an unfortunate addition to my performances haha.
